The Crisis is at Our Doorstep

In 2014, Treobytes quickly recognized that the largest population of students entering the workforce over the next 15 years will not have the fundamental skills to compete if we don't ACT NOW. Our mission is equality, visibility and access for girls and minorities.

EQUALITY

Women make up 50% of the labor pool and hold only 30% of the jobs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the U.S.

VISIBILITY

Research shows that seeing very few people like themselves in technical professions leads women and minorities to feel less welcome.

ACCESS

The biases that children learn at a very young age can find their way into the behavior and decision making of even the most well-intentioned of people.

“Everything was so new - the whole idea of going into space was new and daring.” _Katherine Johnson (NASA)

Treobytes: The Movement Starts Here

We are changing the narrative within STEM careers. When students, specifically girls and underrepresented youth, see leaders and mentors in STEM fields from the community that look like them, they feel more comfortable and willing to take on challenging learning.
