In the Advanced AI Development via Python & C++ summer camp, students explore how artificial intelligence and data science apply to professional sports and athletic performance. Using real-world athletic data alongside data they help collect, students learn to clean, analyze, and model datasets using industry-standard tools and programming languages. Through hands-on activities and iterative development, students build predictive models that generate meaningful insights about athletic performance. The course culminates in a personalized performance profile, a data-driven capstone artifact each student takes home, that mirrors how analysts and engineers apply AI in sports organizations. This program is a fun, recreational summer camp experience held at San Diego Mesa College. Students spend their days alongside peers in an integrated college-campus setting, building friendships, working in teams, sharing snack breaks together, and participating in a structured but playful environment. While students walk away with real technical skills, the camp is first and foremost a social, recreational, and community-based experience designed for connection, confidence-building, and joy.
