STEM Faire

Location: San Diego Mesa College - 7250 Mesa College Dr, San Diego, CA 92111
Time: 8am to 3:30pm
A challenge-based engineering course where students design, build, and solve real-world problems in real time through hands-on prototyping and testing.
STEMfaire immerses students in fast-paced engineering challenges that mirror how engineers solve problems under real-world constraints. Students are tasked with designing, building, and testing structures and systems in real time, requiring quick decision-making, collaboration, and iteration. Using 3D-printed components, hands-on fabrication, and industry-style testing tools such as a shaker table, students evaluate performance, identify failures, and rapidly improve their designs. This course emphasizes adaptability, resilience, and applied engineering fundamentals—preparing students to think and work like real engineers.
Students Can Use These Skills For:
- Solving engineering problems under time and resource constraints
