STEM Sports - Basketball Camp

Location: San Diego Mesa College (7250 Mesa College Dr, San Diego, CA 92111) and Kearny Mesa Recreation Center (3170 Armstrong St, San Diego, CA 92111)
Time: 8am to 3:30pm
An industry-aligned basketball technology camp where student-athletes train, compete in tournaments, and use real performance data, wearable technology, & AI analytics to elevate their athletic performance and basketball strategy.
STEM Sports Basketball Camp combines physical training, competitive play, and performance technology to mirror how collegiate and professional athletes optimize performance. Students exercise, train, and compete in tournaments while collecting real-time biometric and movement data using Garmin wearable technology. This data is analyzed through Garmin Connect and enhanced using AI predictive models to evaluate performance trends, recovery, and workload. By linking competition outcomes to measurable data, students learn how modern sports organizations make evidence-based decisions. The course also includes an industry field trip and concludes with a professional student presentation, where athletes communicate data-driven insights and performance strategies.
